Kate's room used to be the craft room. That I rarely used. And was ALWAYS a mess. We decided it would make a great room for our new baby... but where would we move all the junk?
The piano room now has the two desks and the yellow filing cabinet. I like it SO MUCH better! It's been really great to have the extra craft/homework/mess space right by the kitchen.
A few pictures of Kate's new room. We didn't really do too much to it. The wall color stayed the same - a really light blue. At this point, almost every room in our house is some shade of blue! The floor is white epoxy. It's the same kind of floor as an epoxy garage floor... just white. It's really easy to clean, but shows every little speck of dust!
The view from the door:
Her weirdly shaped closet:
The alphabet/book wall:
Alphabet garland from Etsy. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the garland is just strung on string and tied to little wooden spools I glued a button to, then hot glued to the wall.
Book ledges from Ikea.
The hanging fabric doilies were fun to make! I followed this tutorial. I just can't figure out how to hang them from the ceiling. Right now they're scotch taped up there. Really classy. Any ideas??
The collage wall. This is pretty much what it looked like before. I added a few prints. Still need to change some pictures and change the J to a K.
Pretty simple. I never feel like any room is really finished. There is still the wall behind her crib that's empty. And the changing table has storage bins on the sides that need cute things in them. But for now, it's working just fine. I love how white and fresh and clean it feels.
oooh my, that is amazingly beautiful!

fanastic. I would put little thumb tacks in the ceiling for the hanging doilies.. tie your line around the tacks (underneath the head of the tack).. that way if you have to remove, you will only have pin pricks in the ceiling, which you will hardly see at all.. well done on a beautiful transformation..

Do you by chance know your paint color? Both for the babys room and for your living area?? I love blue and am always looking for blue paint options. Thanks!

I just discovered your blog, so you may have come up with a solution for your doily mobile already, but I have an idea. You could use a wooden plaque that you can get at crafts stores and drill small holes to pull the fishing wire or whatever you have holding the doilies through. They would be secured on the back of the plaque. Then you can attach the plaque with one or two screws instead of putting holes in your ceiling for each individual doily. Oh yeah, you could also buy one of those medallion things that go around lights at Home Depot or Lowes and do the same thing. Anyway, cute nursery and good luck.

Where did you get the white desks? I love how the craft area turned out and was planning on doing something similar, just haven't found desks I liked until I saw yours.
